Our environmental values

  • We believe passionately in environmental protection, and the need to run our business in a sustainable way. Everybody can and should do their bit to practically reduce their environmental impact and we can all learn from those around us that are equally passionate about this.
  • We all have a moral duty to ensure that the world we pass on to our children and grandchildren is in better shape than the one we inherited and, at Orbital RPA, we will continually work to reduce our environmental impact.

Our current environmental credentials.......

  • We offset the greenhouse gases we use travelling to clients' premises and heating our offices so that these parts of our business are carbon neutral or better
  • The electricity we use in our offices is, and will only ever be, generated from renewable resources
  • Our offices are highly insulated
  • We run paperless offices only printing essential items for training courses and postal letters e.g. dosimeter issue. Did you know that every ream of paper results in the emission of 30 kg of CO2? - we offset this
  • When practicable we will use rechargeable batteries in all of our radiation instrumentation
  • We only use recycled paper, support recycling of other office waste and re-use of toner cartridges

Carbon neutrality...........

  • Working with Ecologi, over the last 16 months we have offset 57.9 t of carbon dioxide, planting more than 800 trees and supporting wind power and other environmental projects around the world
  • Using carbon calculators we believe this offset is as least 40% above our current business use - meaning we are actually carbon negative

Our future plans...........

  • We recognise that carbon offset is the first step; a current holding point. Plans to dramatically reduce our carbon footprint must be our medium and long term goal.
  • Within 3 years (from 2022) we will only use electric vehicles
  • Our aim is to solar tile our offices and fit wall batteries within 5 years
  • When technology becomes suitably developed and sustainable, our long term aim is to heat our offices with hydrogen or air source heat pump systems.
